Details from Combat Shooting Tactics.

I will be offering my basic three-day Tactical Pistol/Rifle course at the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Range, in Russell, Illinois. A comprehensive list of units/departments that I have trained can be found at www.combatshootingandtactics.com

This class focuses on the employment of the sidearm and shoulder weapon. Day 1-2 will focus on the pistol, day 3 will focus on the rifle. The class will focus on the following:

• A stair-stepped shooting program that covers all the basic skills needed for surgical shooting.
• Discrimination
• The use of cover
• Transition drills
• Realistic time and accuracy standards will be used as a training standard and goal.
• Individual shooting plans will be developed and used.
• Shooting “work out” plans for future individual development will be taught.

AMMUNITION REQUIREMENTS: 700 PISTOL/400 SHOULDER WEAPON

EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Normal duty/tactical/concealed gear should be use during the course. For example, if you’re a SWAT officer you Tactical gear should be used. If you are a Patrol Officer, your duty belt should be worn. If you are an Undercover Officer or a civilian, bring a concealment holster and a jacket. No IPSC or speed rigs. Equipment should include rifle, pistol, eye and ear protection. Also, students should bring basic weapon cleaning supplies and a pen or pencil and note pad for notes. Students will be provided with a CD of class information. Further, bring inclement weather gear for rain or cold.

We will meet at the range at 8:00 in the classroom and start shooting shortly thereafter. We will begin with pistols on day 1/2 and then rifles on day 3. Also, feel free to shoot me any questions you have reference the course.
